IELTS Module Timing
Total Test Time: Approximately 2 hours and 45 minutes
Modules:
Listening: 30 minutes
Reading: 60 minutes
Writing: 60 minutes
Speaking: 11–14 minutes (conducted on the same or a different day)
Score Validity: 2 Years from the test date.
The Band Score System
Each section receives a score from Band 0 to 9. The final score is an average, often in half-band increments.
Understanding Your Band Score:
Band 9: Expert User (Fluent and appropriate use of language).
Band 8: Very Good User (Only occasional unsystematic inaccuracies).
Band 7: Good User (Effective operational command, though with occasional inaccuracies. This is often the minimum requirement for many universities).
Band 6: Competent User (Generally effective command, despite some errors).
